This morning we headed out early to attend the National Home Show at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto.
The show did not seem to have as many exhibits as last year's, however the ones that were there were very well set up and interesting.
~ about the newest ways of installing granite counter tops in existing kitchens (right over top of the old countertops)
~ that soy is now being used as an insulating material
~ that systems are now being put into homes where you can control the temperature, music and more in each room at the touch of a button
~ that seventies style decor is coming back big-time
~ that more and more modular homes are being put up in Ontario
~ about a lap pool small enough to fit in your house. It exerts a strong water pressure towards you from the front so you never really move forward, even though the effect is the same
~ that composite building materials are being used more and more
~ that steel roofing now comes coated with ashphalt
~that Carmichael's Sausages was all sold out of kangaroo sausage!
It was a great day and we arrived back home in time to take care of some business and then settle in to watch the gold medal hockey game between Canada and the USA.
Way to go Canada!! Congrats on your win and congrats to the American team for their silver medal and a game very well played.
