Spring is in the Air in Oakville.

Spring is in the air today in Oakville.

Ice and snow are retreating and the waterfowl are returning from their winter vacations.

It was the perfect day to take a drive through Old Oakville and head down to the Lake Ontario shore.

A lone kayaker took advantage of the beautiful day and braved the choppy lake.
The Mallards are arriving back from their winter vacation south.

Oh, Jo, Spring seems to be in the air in lots of places except here---where we are getting more snow to add to what we have.  Your pictures are just beautiful....especially the DUCKS.  I love those ducks and may ask to borrow them for a post one day :)

I hope you are well!!

Jo, I hear we are in for a wet week. As long as it doesn't stay;). I just love Old Oakville. My parents had a house on Allen St. It was great. You could walk to the lake down those beautiful streets or head on up to Lakeshore Rd. and shop.

Jo,

If I didn't see the ice I would have thought it was Spring.

Jo - I think that bench photography is starting to become quite popular in Oakville.  I'll need to expand it to the other side of the GTA and then we can all have a bench photography exhibition along with Jenny.

Carole,

Feel free to use my mallard duck picture anytime you want. They're very beautiful, aren't they?

I hope it warms up in Long Island very soon and you start to see signs of spring....

Janice,

Old Oakville is such a beautiful area....so much history and the trees are just huge. The proximity to the lake and downtown is wonderful and it's an ideal place to live in Oakville.

Brian,

I felt the same way until I saw the ice on the wrought iron fence....

Marc,

lol....bench photography...I've never heard it called that before. I enjoy taking pictures of benches...it somehow leaves so much to the imagination and I have a friend who has a special appreciation for benches, so I often take the pictures for him.
