Closing Olympic Ceremonies - Congratulations to All Countries Who Participated and to All Medal Winners!

The 2010 Winter Olympics is now coming to a close. It was the most memorable olympics I've ever watched.

The dedication, perseverance and professionalism of the athletes was phenomenal. Not only did it make me feel proud to be a Canadian, but moreso it made me feel proud to be a member of the human race.

Congratulations to all of those who participated and to every single athlete who won a medal. Well done!

The closing ceremonies have been very good. I loved the touch of humour!

I thought it was great of them to recognize the many volunteers that kept the games going.

Jo, Wasn't it a thrill?  I can't tell you how much I'm going to miss the games and the stories behind some of these incredible athletes who overcame obstacles that no one would have believed.....

Jo - One of the best I have every watched .... great sportsmanship .... there is a lesson there for the world .... what a way to finish the games .... that last gold was hard earned and almost lost what a game.

I loved the closing ceremonies. The "IAm Canadiann" was embarrassing CBC Canadian but it sets us apart from the glitzy Hollywood approach so often seen in these events.

I agree with BOB. I'm postng a piece on the closings. I was disappointed.

Jo!  I was thinking of you -- you are the ONLY Canadian I know!  I was very happy for your hockey team yesterday.  Happy Monday!!

Jo~

I especially loved the hockey game and the energy/spirit  that flew from the areana like a good luck hockey puck to bring the feeling of possibility forward to a huge viewing audience.

Well Jo, I guess it's back to normal life again. I'm going to have to find something new to fret about.

hi Janice,

I enjoyed the recognition of the volunteers too....

What did you think of the giant beavers and moose! We laughed so much....

Bob,

The 'I Am Canadian' was rather whimsical and funny, however I enjoyed the lightheartedness of it all. It certainly was memorable! Afterall, it's not every day you get to see giant beavers and moose....

A very nice Olympics.  I enjoyed watching the competitions. In a way I'm glad it is over so I can get some sleep!  LOL

Joan,

I agree...the time difference certainly meant we had to stay up late if we wanted to see the events!
