East Fourteen Mile Creek Trail, West Oak Trails, Oakville, Ontario
Today was a beautiful, late winter day that gave a glimpse of the spring nature has in store for us. Warm and sunny, it was the perfect day for a hike down East Fourteen Mile Creek Trail.
My brother Clayton and his family visited with children in tow and off we went, exploring this bit of beauty just a stone's throw away from where I live.
The trails is well groomed and wide, perfect for biking or a casual stroll. Running along Fourteen Mile Creek, it meanders behind houses and overlooks wild fields and forested areas.
East Fourteen Mile Creek Trail is just one of hundreds of trails within the City of Oakville.
East Fourteen Mile Creek Trail is located within the West Oak Trails area of Oakville and can be entered off of West Oak Trails directly across from Ashmore Drive.

Jo, What a lovely day you sound like you had with Clayton and the children. It was one beautiful day here as well and finally time to be able to get out...although no place as pretty as this!
Jo, what a great post for Localism. Makes us all want to get out and enjoy Nature and her bounty. You do such a good job for your Consumer. Wish I was there!
Jo,
Yes, how exciting to have a nice day and see so many people out and about! Yeah, I am ready for spring. Great highlight of your trails.
All the best, Michelle
Jo, that's really a beautiful place...the homes are huge...do you know what the average square feet is?
Jo, I love days like this. Free and yet so valuable. Making memories is a stand-up way to spend the day.
Jo,
This area is another example of a well-planned Oakville community. So far, I think it's a little far out, but that will change as soon as commercial development follows.
Brian
Carole,
It was just a short walk, but so nice to spend some time with family and explore my new neighbourhood a bit.
I hope you enjoyed your outing too...what did you do?
Jo
Thanks Jeanean.
We're not having spring here yet, like you are with your beautiful flowering pear tree, however it's just around the corner.
Jo
Michelle,
We've had a good winter here...not much snow at all and it seemed to have gone by quickly. Spring will be very welcome though...
Jo
Nick,
The homes in this region range from around 1600 upwards to over 5000sqft. Ours is about 2000 sqft and I would say that overall the majority are around 2000-3000 sqft.
Jo
Maggie,
Our lives are so busy that any time we can allocate to spend with family is very special indeed,
Jo
Brian,
We love it here. It's close to Bronte Outer Harbour Marina (just straight down Bronte Road) where we keep the boat, close to an abundance of excellent shopping facilities, close to Bronte Provincial Park, tons of trails everywhere and just a short and easy jump onto Dundas or the QEW.
We're also very close to the many amenities of Glen Abbey.
Jo
Jo
Sounds like you had a really great time.
Hi Jo,
Your scenic 14-Mile Creek Trail reminds me of our Linear Park, Lititz PA, which also runs along some nearby housing...
Brian
Tom,
It was a nice outing.
Jo
Brian,
It does look very similar....
we have a number of these kinds of trails thoughout our suburbs here in Oakville.
Jo
